If you’re like me, your desire to care for creation and/or concerns about climate change was sparked by some person, event, or something you learned. Reflect back on your own journey and try to identify one of these influences.
For me, I was impacted by some time I spent at Bethlehem Farm in 2015. Bethlehem Farm is a Catholic community in West Virginia that focuses on service, prayer, simplicity, community. They host weekly groups of volunteers, serve the local community, especially through their home repair work, and teach others sustainable practices. I was inspired by not only their many sustainable practices, but also how it meshed with their spirituality and foundation of their community. They helped show me the fruits of integrating sustainability and simplicity with faith and prayer.
