This past weekend, Lynne and I watched the new Pixar movie Soul (would recommend!). In the movie, one of the characters expresses appreciation for the everyday things including the little helicopter like seeds that fall from maple trees. I loved this recognition that the things around us everyday, especially in nature, can fill us with joy if we look at them with fresh eyes.
Taking inspiration from the movie, yesterday on our walk around the neighborhood I noticed the crystallization of recent snow on the tiny tree branches. Usually I remark at the beauty of snow on trees when looking at them from afar, but the tiny formation of snow on the branches brought on a sense of awe. What can you gain new appreciation for the next time you’re out?
