Today a few institutions in the US published that 2020 tied for the hottest year on record.
While not necessarily surprising to those that have followed the results of climate studies the past few years, it is still extremely disheartening. To put it bluntly, that graphic from the NY Times fills me with despair.
With that on my mind today, I thought of one of the charisms of the Congregation of Holy Cross which is to be “men with hope to bring.”
How can we face this reality while still being hopeful? How can we bring hope to the world? How can we allow hope to build up in ourselves?
I don’t really know, but I’m feeling that God needs to be part of the answer to those questions. As we face the current situation but try to cultivate hope, I’m asking God to fill my heart and guide me along right paths.
